What is Content Farming?

With the recent update of the Google’s search algorithm, websites that practices content farming were slowly banned from the search engine. According to Wiki, content farming “is generating large amounts of textual content which is specifically designed to satisfy algorithms for maximal retrieval by automated search engines. This is to generate advertising revenue through page views.”

For Google, content farming sites are considered as “low-quality sites” and “sites with no original content.” Oftentimes, websites result to content farming to attract visitors and boost their search engine rankings. Website owners flood their site with duplicate content, as it targets the search results, page views and revenues, disregarding its quality.

The new algorithm, known as “Google Panda,” is banning sites with duplicate content. To avoid this, write your own content. Never copy your content from other sites. Remove low-quality content websites that are linking to your site. Always update your site with a new and original content. Avoid content farming.

Do this and you don’t have to worry about Google’s algorithm. Also, it can help you achieve better rankings on the search engine results page.
