Google Panda 101

The big news for 2011 in the SEO world is the birth of Google Panda. This algorithm penalizes sites with irrelevant and low-quality content. This update has said to greatly affect the SEO and the social media.

Since the new update, Google has been using its PageRank process to rank websites. The process checks the relevant sites linked to your website, as relevance plays a big role in page ranking. Google gives more value to its popularity and linked sites.

Google Panda has stirred controversies in the online industry. Since many internet businesses get high traffic from Google, it changed the SEO methodologies of the webmaster communities.

The new algorithm maintains the quality and uniqueness of every content.  The goal of this update is to stop content farming. Also, sites with bad quality and duplicate content are ranked lower.

Good and high quality content can pretty much benefit from Google Panda. So, do you think it is working to your advantage or disadvantage?
