Philippines as an Offshore Destination

Today, young professionals are most likely to work in a call center even if their degree is unrelated to that profession. Outsourcing, especially the call centers, is a booming industry in the country. Foreign companies establish offshore offices to provide service for their products. Offshore companies were being set up all over the world, Philippines is a frontrunner of this offshore destination.    


Philippine call centers humbly started through email then eventually companies decided to set up offshore offices abroad. Call centers right now are handling calls for customer service or technical support.

 

The reasons why foreign companies prefer offshore location are: low operational costs, scalability and skilled workers. Setting up an offshore location is cheaper when it comes to domestic operations. Also, outsourcing is a cost effective way to recruit new employees.


Filipinos have learned to adopt the Western culture which is why most of the call center agents can relate to their foreign clients. These Filipino agents are highly proficient and educated. Another reason why Philippines is a top offshore destination is that most Filipinos can speak English. They only need training from the call center companies to phase out their local accent so they can either adopt the American accent or neutralize their accent.

Filipinos are excellent workers, polite and patient, which is why they are the perfect candidates to handle customer service and tech support for irate customers.


Outsourcing is not only limited to call centers. The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) are growing industries in the country. The outsourcing companies usually hire experienced professionals such as lawyers and writer that is why there is always a high demand for manpower.
The company and the service provider can both benefit from outsourcing. Both can get an excellent service quality at a minimum rate.
